MTV Staying Alive Announce Leona Lewis As Their 2017 Ambassador
Welcome to the family, Leona!
The MTV Staying Alive Foundation has unveiled their latest celebrity ambassador for 2017.
Taking over from singer Laura Mvula as the face of the campaign, Leona Lewis will be representing the organisation on a global scale. She’ll be helping the Foundation to increase awareness of HIV/AIDS as well as raising funds that will help young people all over the world.
Leona is no stranger to MTV Staying Alive, having already performed at their annual charity art auction MTV: REDEFINE in Dallas, Texas, last year. She explained why she chose to get involved:
“It is a great honour to be working with MTV’s Staying Alive Foundation as an ambassador. I’m eager to raise awareness of the ongoing global HIV crisis.
By empowering young people with knowledge about the disease – particularly women and girls who are disproportionately affected – we can help treat it and ultimately prevent it altogether.”
We know Leona is going to be an amazing ambassador for MTV Staying Alive as they continue their mission of building an empowered and educated generation of young people, equipped with the knowledge and tools to protect themselves and each other from HIV.
