Omg, There’s Now A Sanitary Towel Advert With Actual Blood In It
This is bloody fantastic. (Sorry).
We have some breaking news for you. Are you ready? Are you sitting down and mentally prepared to hear this?! Okay, here we go.
When a woman is on her period, she bleeds.
Yup, it’s true. We’re sorry you had to find out this way.
Periods = blood, and no matter how many tampon adverts we see featuring that weird blue liquid in a test tube (seriously, what even is that stuff?) women are never going to be convinced that they aren’t bleeding when they most definitely are.
And that’s why we love Bodyform’s new advert so much. Long gone are the images of ladies boldly wearing white dresses or giggling with their gal pals over a latte. This ad shows real women, kicking real ass.
There’s a rugby player casually wiping her bloody nose. A ballet dancer massaging her bleeding feet. A climber still managing to climb with blood-covered hands. And special mention has to go to the Joan of Arc type brandishing a sword on the back of a horse. Immense.
Bodyform have said, “Women bleed in sport all the time, but it doesn’t hold them back. Why should periods be any different?” and people are loving it.
It’s raw, it’s vicious and it’s strong. We can’t get enough. “No blood should hold us back”.
