Some Genius Teenagers Have Created A Condom That Changes Colour If You Have An STD
So it's probably time to go get tested lads…
Hey everyone, you might want to reconsider skipping your next STD test, because some bloomin’ geniuses from London have just invented a condom that changes colour when it detects an STI.
Yep, a group of 13 and 14-year-old students (say whaaa?) showed off their incredible creation at the TeenTech Awards, and needless to say they took home the top prize.
The invention, which aims to tackle the pretty crazy rates of sexually transmitted diseases, is not only impressive, but also punny – it’s called an S.T.EYE.
In a press release, the group explained that they created the condoms in order to ‘help the future of the next generation’.
14-year-old Ali explains: “We wanted to make something that made detecting harmful STIs safer than ever before, so that people can take immediate action in the privacy of their own homes without the often-scary procedures at the doctors.”
But while the teens say their idea is more of a concept than a final design at this point in time, we wouldn’t be surprised if these things become a very real life product in the not too distant future.
