80% Of People's Star Signs Just Changed And It's All NASA's Fault

We don't want to alarm you, but the worse thing since Mercury went into retorgrade and turned your life into the real life equivalent of Pretty Little Liars has just happened, and it's all NASA's fault.

Yep, a whopping 80% of you are just about to find out that the star sign you've had your whole entire life and which has probably informed exactly how you live your life each month (ahem) has actually been somewhat inaccurate.

This is because the dates defining horoscopes haven't been updated or reasessed since they were originally calculated by ancient astrological types a whopping 2000 years ago. 

Unfortunately the Earth's rotation doesn't exactly match the 365 day calendar year we use, and over time the earth's axis has actually moved and as the skies we now see are different, so are a lot of our horoscopes have actually changed. 

As if that wasn't quite enough of a bombshell, NASA have added a new star sign - we repeat, A NEW STAR SIGN - called Ophiuchus, so there are now 13 signs in total.

To be fair it's not NASA's fault and supposedly Ophiuchus existed all the time, we just didn't know it as those sneaky ancient astologers decided to pretend it didn't exist purely so their charts would look prettier, with just 12 signs spaced evenly around the sun.

No, we don't really get what is happening here either, but frankly we are way too preoccupied with finding out which sign we should be looking at to work out when and when not to flirt with the fit boy from Accounts to make him ours forever to care right now.

Here's the updated list of star signs with the corresponding dates:

Capricorn: Jan 20 - Feb 16 

Aquarius: Feb 16 – March 11 

Pisces: March 11 – April 18 

Aries: April 18 – May 13 

Taurus: May 13 – June 21 

Gemini: June 21 – July 20 

Cancer: July 20 – Aug 10 

Leo: Aug 10 – Sept 16 

Virgo: Sept 16 – Oct 30 

Libra: Oct 30 – Nov 23 

Scorpio: Nov 23 – Nov 29 

Ophiuchus: Nov 29 – Dec 17 

Sagittarius: Dec 17 – Jan 20 

If you are an Ophiuchus, you are apparently probably wise, rebellious and likely to fight for justice. So basically you are Harry Potter, which we suppose is something at least. 

Hands up if you feel like everything you've ever known was a lie? Yeah, us too.
