A Teenager Is Suing Her Parents For Posting Her Embarrassing Childhood Pics On Facebook
Christmas is gonna be awkward this year.
Christmas is sure going to be awkward for one family this year, after news that an Austrian teenager is actually attempting to sue her parents for childhood photos of her they posted to Facebook.
Granted there's nothing more embarrassing than your mum and dad whacking out the baby albums and showing that one pic of you crying in a Teletubby outfit aged six to your crush, but this particular 18-year-old has taken matters into her own hands to make it stop.
After they refused to remove photos at her request, she's decided to take legal action and sue her parents for the seven years worth of childhood photos posted to the social media platform.
“They knew no shame and no limits,” the girl tells Austria’s Heute newspaper. “They didn't care if I was sitting on the toilet or lying naked in the cot, every moment was photographed and made public.”
Apparently there's over 500 pics she's unhappy about being available to her parents' 700 Facebook friends and after turning 18, she decided to sue them for infringing her right to privacy after her father refused to delete them on the grounds that as he took the pics, he believes he has the right to do with them as he pleases.
Her lawyer reckons she has a pretty good case too, and Michael Rami will apparently be seeking financial compensation for his client when the case comes to court in November.
"I'm tired of not being taken seriously by my parents," she adds.
Well one's things for sure as we'd bet five awkward school photos that's that they are taking her seriously now.
