The idea is that during the three-hour livestream YouTubers from all sorts of video backgrounds, from gamers to pranksters to foodies, compete against each other in a load of crazy challenges. As well as all the live stuff there are pre-recorded video features too, showing some of the creators finding out about Cancer Research UK's amazing work.

Patricia Bright commented: “I’m so excited to be involved with this epic event. Stand Up To Cancer is an awesome campaign. It’s not often that everyone from the YouTube community gets together. Most of the time we’re solo in our bedrooms creating content, so it’s really special and amazing to come together and for such a brilliant cause.

“Funding research is the best way to kick cancer where it hurts and I think the name of this year’s event really gives an insight into what to expect, ‘YouTube Fights Back’ says it all. It’s going to be a crazy, fun night!”

Twin YouTubers and BBC Radio 1 presenters Niki & Sammy are also pretty exciting for the event, as they’ve gone the previous few years so they know a bit about what to expect. “We’re live – which is always fun and slightly nerve-wracking!” they said. “This campaign means so much to us – cancer has personally affected us and taken our lovely Nan from us. So we’re so happy we get to be a part of it all again.

“Not only do we get to have the time of our lives, but we also help to raise awareness and fund research into cancer that will save lives. That’s what Stand Up To Cancer is all about, coming together, having fun and raising lots of cash.”
