Forget being born on separate days because a pair of twin babies born over New Year's will now celebrate their birthdays in different years.

While there's actually only three minutes difference betweenthetimes these twofirst made their way into the world, for brother and sister Jaelyn and Luis Valencia, it's made all the difference.

It began when mum Maribel giving birth to Jaelyn at the last possible moment, with her birth being registered at11.59 PMon December 31 2015. Three minutes later and brother Luis then officially appearedat 12.02 AM on January 1 2016,meaning that the new parents have landed themselves with both aNew Year's Eve and New Year's Day baby.

Dad Luis is preparing himself for a lifetime of sibling rivalry and speaking to NBC 7 San Diego, he explained:“[Maribel] really wanted to have the babies on the same birthday because you know later on in the years, they’re going to have a little confrontation and be like, ’my birthday came first,’ so it means two birthday parties, back to back."

For now though, he's focusing on juggling not one or two newborns:
