Sometimes it's just too much to ask to have us actually respond to people in a WhatsApp group conversation, especially when certain people just won't stop talking.

But apparently us hitting that 'mute' button is just not on for the messaging service, who are now making it even harder for us to ignore people we like.

Wow we're awful.

As of WhatsApp's latest update, you can now @ people within a group chat to call them out specifically.

Which means if a message is directed at you after someone gets fed up of you not replying, they can @ you and you'll get another notification EVEN IF YOU'VE MUTED THE CONVO.
