Younger Siblings Are Officially The Funniest Member Of The Family
And none for the eldest or middle child, bye.
If you're a younger sibling then it's give yourself a pat on the back as according to a new study, you are officially most likely to be the funniest and most laid back member of your family.
The study, which was conducted by YouGov, found that while first-born siblings are generally more sensible and tend to feel the weight of responsibility, their youngest sister or brother will usually be the most relaxed member of the family.
The research also reckons that the youngest tend to be the favourite of their parents, so prepare for some serious (roast) beef over Christmas lunch this year when you decide to bring that gem up to prove your point about your younger sib always getting the last roast potato.
"The most significant difference is in feeling the burden of responsibility – most (54%) first borns say they are more responsible than their siblings, compared to 31% of last borns," the study reveals.
However, this doesn't actually mean your younger sibling is funnier than you - just that they probably think they are.
The study continues: "Younger siblings, on the other hand, are more likely to say they are more funny (46% compared to 36% of elder siblings), more easy going and more relaxed."
Aaand none for the middle and eldest child, BYE.
Only joking, but it does make sense; as the oldest child you're the pathfinder as are your parents when they parent you. You will probably also feel the added responsibility of having to look out for your younger bro and sis, so together it often makes for a more responsible personality type.
On the other hand the youngest has it easier and often parents are more laid back and less worried about them pushing boundaries growing up as they've seen it all before. Plus everyone loves spoiling the baby, don't they?
