Lil Wayne is safe and sound after reports of a shooting at his Miami home were confirmed to be a hoax.

Following news that gunshots had been heard at Weezy’s waterfront pad, police took to Twitter to state that no one had been injured and that the incident appeared to be a “swatting call”.

[related]The Miami Beach Police Department wrote that after breaking "down the perimeter” of the 'Krazy' hitmaker’s home, they found no signs of foul play.

"Unfortunately this appears to be a swatting call. No victims/no injuries/no subject," they tweeted.

Wayne himself also took to Twitter to reassure fans that he was ok, writing: “Prank kall mane.”

Weezy isn’t the first celebrity to be targeted by pranksters, with the likes of Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus and Ashton Kutcher all previously caught out by swatting calls.
