How Lily Got Maggie Back
Was her precious mutt victim of a dog racketeering ring?
Lily Allen has announced she paid a 500 ranson to get her beloved bull terrier, Maggie May, back from dognappers.
One of the thieves got in touch with Lil on January 3, saying he'd bought the pooch as a Crimbo gift for his sister, but added if Lily stumped up the cash he'd give her back.
Two of Lily's pals then went to collect Maggie. However, once she'd been handed over Lil's mates were offered the chance to buy more dogs and this is when they realised something seedy was going.
Lily now believes Maggie was nabbed by a hardcore dognapping ring.
The singer said, "I feel guilty for having given them the money and contributing to their cruel business but I love my dog and I felt I had no choice."
She added, "The fact that she was very thin makes me think she was mistreated - not fed - and the fact she was infested with fleas implies she was kept with other animals... This is now a matter for the RSPCA and the police."
As we previously reported Maggie was snatched on December 28 in East London.
Let's hope justice is done and Maggie is now getting over her trauma...
