Lily: “I’ll Never Duet With My Dad”
Ms Allen still hasnt quite forgiven her old man for Vindaloo
Lily Allen has blasted stories that she and her famous dad Keith Allen are going to perform together at next years Glastonbury.
Im sure my dad would love that, but its not going to happen, she told MTV UK News. I love my father; hes someone whos helped me throughout my life but at the same time he wrote 'Vindaloo' which is the bain of my life.
The curry-flavoured footy tune accounted for some pretty bad childhood ribbing according to Lily.
It was really bad. I used to go home after school on the tube and the whole carriage would sing it to me, she said.
It was fun for a minute but I think it made it easier for other kids to make fun of me. They didnt know who my dad was till he sang that song " they thought he was the tooth fairy from the Listerine advert!
Still, the 'LDN' lady has no hard feelings and credits Keith with helping her put out her chart-topping album, 'Alright Still'.
I had writers block for about a year when I was writing it and he helped me out. So Im very grateful to him for that " and for donating his sperm to my mum!
Lily's new tune 'LDN' is out this week.
