Lindsay Lohan was back in court yesterday (30th January), with the actress being warned by a judge she could face jail time even if she's not found guilty of charges relating to a car crash last summer.
According to The Sun, the Liz & Dick star had originally claimed she was 'too ill' to attend the probation hearing in LA, even submitting a doctor's note on Saturday saying she was suffering from an upper respiratory infection.
However, the newspaper claims LiLo was seen smoking a cigarette during a shopping trip to New York at the weekend, with Judge Stephanie Sautner kicking off the hearing with the sarcastic comment: "I’m glad to see you’re feeling better.”
Lohan was then told that she was in court to answer charges that she lied to police, after the 26-year old had perviously claimed she was not behind the wheel of her Porsche when it crashed on the Pacific Coast Highway in June.
Judge Sautner explained to Lindsay - who is still on probation after she stole a necklace in 2011 - that even if she is found not guilty for the car crash offence, she could still be found in violation, because the standard of proof is lower - meaning Lohan might find herself back behind bars.
The Mean Girls star - who even appeared to doze off during the hearing - arrived seven minutes late for her court appearance wearing a smart black dress and spotty heels, as well as sporting two new tattoos.
On her arm, Lindsay showed off a red warning triangle design with the words 'What dreams will come' scrawled underneath.
She also had the Brigitte Bardot quote: "I leave before being left. I decide" etched on her hand.
A new court date has now been set for 1st March. Keep it MTV.co.uk for more...
