Lindsay Lohan Avoids Jail, Agrees To Rehab Plea Deal
LiLo was glitter-bombed as she arrived at court & will spend 90 days in rehab...
TMZ reports that the Liz & Dick star pleaded not guilty to the allegations of reckless driving and lying to the police, and has been ordered to spend 90 days in rehab instead of behind bars.
As we previously reported, Lohan was told at a hearing in January that she was in court to answer charges that she lied to police, after the 26-year old had perviously claimed she was not behind the wheel of her Porsche when it crashed on the Pacific Coast Highway in June 2012.
Judge Sautner explained to Lindsay - who is still on probation after she stole a necklace in 2011 - that if she was found not guilty for the car crash offence, she could still be found in violation, because the standard of proof is lower - meaning Lohan might find herself back in prison.
However, LiLo was spared jail and will spend time in rehab, as well as completing 30 days of community service. The Mean Girls star will also have 18 months of psychotherapy treatment and will be tested for drugs.
She admitted to probation violation, but will not serve a custodial sentence for the crime if she sticks to the law.
Lohan arrived at court 48 minutes late for the hearing after missing two flights from New York to LA and was glitter-bombed as she made her way into the courtroom.
A man was allegedly heard screaming "Lindsay, I love you!" from the crowd, with the glitter incident causing chaos as one of LiLo's team fell over a bollard.
Lindsay's dad Michael Lohan also caused a stir outside the court after breaking up a press conference with her lawyer Mark Heller, where he appeared to heckle the Heller and suggesting that he should be dismissed.
