Lindsay Lohan ‘Investigated’ For Rehab Attack
She allegedly hit a female employee at the Betty Ford clinic…
Lindsay Lohan has been accused of assaulting a female employee at the Betty Ford rehab clinic where she has been ordered to stay until 3 January.
Police are investigating claims that Lindsay pushed the woman after the star and some fellow patients were caught returning to the centre after curfew. Chemical technician Dawn Holland told TMZ that she tried to administer Breathalyzer tests when the trouble started.
Lindsay was “very angry and out of control,” the rehab worker said, adding, “She had alcohol on her breath.” But Holland denied Lindsay’s claim that she had struck the first blow. “I did not touch the woman. I am not willing to risk my job over any patient.”
The star’s attorney has denied Holland’s account of the incident. “We are declining to comment on the underlying facts surrounding this incident, as we await the completion of the police investigation,” he said. “It should be noted, however, that it was Ms Lohan who called 911 to request police assistance at the time this incident occurred.”
The staff member was later fired for breaching the centre’s strict confidentially guidelines. "Regrettably one of our employees violated strict confidentiality guidelines and laws by publically identifying patients in a media interview and by disclosing a privileged document," the Betty Ford centre said in a statement.
A spokesperson for Palm Desert police said the case was under investigation. "The victim desires prosecution. The incident is being investigated as a misdemeanor."
