James Corden Lets Chester Bennington's Family Decide If Linkin Park's Carpool Karaoke Will Air
The 'Numb' band recorded the segment before Chester Bennington passed away...
Feeling so faithless, lost under the surface
Don't know what you're expecting of me
Put under the pressure of walking in your shoes
(Caught in the undertow, just caught in the undertow)
Every step that I take is another mistake to you
(Caught in the undertow, just caught in the undertow)
I've become so numb
I can't feel you there
Become so tired
So much more aware
I'm becoming this
All I want to do
Is be more like me
And be less like you
Can't you see that you're smothering me
Holding too tightly, afraid to lose control?
'Cause everything that you thought I would be
Has fallen apart right in front of you
(Caught in the undertow, just caught in the undertow)
Every step that I take is another mistake to you
(Caught in the undertow, just caught in the undertow)
And every second I waste is more than I can take
I've become so numb
I can't feel you there
Become so tired
So much more aware
I'm becoming this
All I want to do
Is be more like me
And be less like you
And I know
I may end up failing too
But I know
You were just like me with someone disappointed in you
I've become so numb
I can't feel you there
Become so tired
So much more aware
I'm becoming this
All I want to do
Is be more like me
And be less like you
I've become so numb
I can't feel you there
(I'm tired of being what you want me to be)
I've become so numb
I can't feel you there
(I'm tired of being what you want me to be)
Not long before Chester Bennington's death, Linkin Park recorded a Carpool Karaoke segment.
It was scheduled to air in the coming months. However, it has now been revealed that James Corden and the producers behind Carpool Karaoke have decided to give Chester's family the opportunity to choose whether or not the segment will air.
In a statement with the Associated Press, James confirmed that he will act with Chester's family in mind. "We will approach it in whichever manner his family or the people that were involved in that episode, however they would like it to be handled."
He then went into further depth about the situation and added that "We will navigate it as delicately as possible and just adhere to whatever wishes they would want because I don't think there's any other way we could deal with it. It's a tragedy."
Chester's widow, Talinda Bennington, then reached out on Twitter to say thank you.

The segment was/is due to be part of James Corden's new Carpool Karaoke television series on Apple Music.
In the new series, Corden brings his famous Carpool Karaoke skit front and centre with stars including Will Smith.
As much as we'd love to see Linkin Park's episode, we think that it's great that Chester's family will choose if it airs.
Chester committed suicide on July 20th this year and his family, friends and fans have been in mourning ever since.
Our thoughts are with all of them during this difficult time.

There's no getting through to you
The lights are on, but nobody's home
You say I can't understand
But you're not giving me a chance
When you leave me, where do you go?
All the walls that you keep building
All this time that I spent chasing
All the ways that I keep losing you
And the truth is, you turned into someone else
You keep running like the sky is falling
I can whisper, I can yell
But I know, yeah, I know, yeah, I know, I'm just talking to myself
Talking to myself, talking to myself
But I know, yeah, I know, yeah, I know, I'm just talking to myself
I admit I made mistakes
But yours might cost you everything
Can't you hear me calling you home?
Oh, all the walls that you keep building
All this time that I spent chasing
All the ways that I keep losing you
And the truth is, you turned into someone else
You keep running like the sky is falling
I can whisper, I can yell
But I know, yeah, I know, yeah, I know, I'm just talking to myself
Talking to myself, talking to myself
Yeah, I know, yeah, I know, yeah, I know, I'm just talking to myself
All the walls that you keep building
All this time that I spent chasing
All the ways that I keep losing you
And the truth is, you turned into someone else
You keep running like the sky is falling
I can whisper, I can yell
But I know, yeah, I know, yeah, I know, I'm just talking to myself
I'm talking to myself, I'm talking to myself
Yeah, I know, yeah, I know, yeah, I know, talking to myself
