5 Little Mix Collaborations That We NEED To Happen
With the news the girls have teamed up with Stormzy on 'Power', here's some more collabs we're desperate to see...
Little Mix have announced that they are collaborating with Stormzy. After a casting call went up on Twitter last week for a Little Mix/Stormzy video, rumours were quick to surface that the two were releasing something together. Now Jesy, Jade, Leigh-Anne and Perrie have confirmed that the rumours are true. Stormzy will feature on their next single: ‘Power’. ‘Power' Ft. Stormzy is now the fourth single from their best-selling album Glory Days and it is coming out this Friday. Yes that’s right - we’re getting a new Little Mix single in just four days. Four days.
Now, as Little Mix are fans of a good feature (Missy Elliott, Sean Paul etc.), we started to wonder who else we’d like to see collaborate with our favourite foursome. Who else is worthy of our girls?
So, with that in mind - here are five of our dream Little Mix collaborations:
1. Ariana Grande
Last autumn rumours surfaced that ‘Touch' Ft. Ariana Grande existed. Fans of both artists went crazy. However, as Glory Days was released ‘Touch' Ft. Ariana Grande was nowhere to be seen. Fans wondered whether the collaboration would materialise for the song’s single release or promo in the US but alas it never came to be. That being said, we still have our hopes up for this one.
The girls have now been on tour with Ariana and they’ve also expressed numerous times in interview that they would love to collaborate with her. We think that the dangerous woman’s silky vocals and pop sensibilities would be the perfect match for Britain’s best selling girl group today.
2. Nicki Minaj
The girls have talked about their hopes to work with Nicki Minaj one day for years. There are other artists that they’d like to collaborate with, of course, but every time that they’re asked, Nicki is top of their dream feature wishlist. Plus they’ve been fans of Nicki ever since they were put together by Kelly Rowland and Tulisa.
In their first X Factor live performance they covered ‘Super Bass’ so this collaboration feels like destiny. Not to mention the fact that just the idea of the queen of rap spitting some bars on a fire track with the UK’s queens of pop is enough to send fans into cardiac arrest.
3. Fifth Harmony
Harmonizers and Mixers always seem to be in a war over which girl group is best. From single and album sales to performance capabilities and music, the two fandoms are always trying to one up each other. What better way to calm the fan drama than with a girl group collaboration. This is not out of the question either. The two girl groups have worked together, supporting Demi Lovato on tour back in 2014. They are also close label mates and, whenever an interviewer asks either group about their reported rivalry, both Little Mix and Fifth Harmony are quick to dispel rumours and make known their love and support of each other. Imagine Little Mix doing a song like ‘Work From Home’.
4. Justin Bieber
Justin Bieber is another artist that Little Mix have confirmed that they love. In fact, not so long ago, Leigh-Anne even confessed that she fancied Justin. Previous crushes aside though, we think that the Biebs would be the perfect fit for a future international smash hit from our girls. With Glory Days, the girls have already begun to make their sound more adult and Justin himself has made his own transition from kid pop to something more grown up. As the girls continue to get more and more confident and mature in their music, we think that Justin would make their perfect sidekick.
5. Charli XCX
From ‘Fancy’ to ‘I Love It’ and ‘Same Old Love’ to ‘Boom Clap’, Charli XCX has a way with writing a pop hit. Alongside her solo career she’s always busy writing smashes for other popstars, making some of modern pop’s best music on the side. With that in mind, we think that Charli could write something really special for Little Mix. Also she’s gushed about the the girls plenty of times on her Twitter feed recently - she loves ‘Touch’ and ‘No More Sad Songs’ - which makes us think that she’s either in the process of collaborating with them or is planning on it.
