Leading Ladies Little Mix Bring The Party To London’s O2 Arena

It was a powerhouse performance from start to finish...

Last night (26th October)we headed to the O2 Arena for Little Mix’s London gig, and it was AMAZING from start to finish. Before the ladies came on, we were treated to a set from Jessarae, a 22 year old singer/ songwriter originally from LA, who has been touring the world with Little Mix.

Jess’ gorgeous voice set the tone for the night, and his great attitude was infectious! We especially loved his most recent single 'Fishbowl', a pop/rock track that sounded great live. It can’t be easy opening for Little Mix, but Jessarae made it look simple. After a quick change of set – and a sneak peek of Little Mix’s BRAND NEW SONG 'Is Your Love Enough?' – it was time for the party to start...

Since their creation on 2011's 'X Factor', Little Mix have transformed from a group of hopeful singers to fully fledged pop stars. Last night, they brought their world tour home to London, performing to a sold out crowd of children, parents, and hen parties. While they have been on the road almost non-stop for the last five years, these ladies have honed their performance skills to a fine art. Every hair flick, every hip pop and every strut was perfectly timed and executed. Watching them, you'd have no idea that a few years ago, these women didn't know each other; from young girls to leading ladies, they have grown up together, and on stage they are no longer separate entities, but one well-oiled machine.

Little Mix arrived on stage (with a healthy dose of pyrotechnics) to their recent anthem 'Power'. Dressed in black leather - all styled slightly differently to retain the girls' individual tastes - they made it clear that they meant business. Teasing the crowd with short clips from the tracks, they transitioned into 'Black Magic' seamlessly with a complex new dance routine and flawless vocals. In fact, each song during the set had its own dance routine, which looked exhausting! The girls kept their stamina impressively, however, missing no moves and maintaining vocals close to perfection.

In the moments they took a break from dancing, the strength of each voice was clear, like in the gentle 'F.U.' which they sang sat on stools, or on 'Secret Love Song'. During this, the girls walked across a large platform to the opposite side of the arena, giving those near the back a chance to see them. Now on to their second costume of the night, they literally glittered in the stage lights as they brought the tempo down. Each lady had some sort of feather attached to them, from Jesy’s boa to Perrie's full-on angel wings, bringing a little bit of Vegas to East London. Jade - in a fully glittered cowgirl hat- dedicated 'Secret Love Song' to her LGBT fans, rightfully earning a huge cheer as they started to sing.

Back on the stage, Little Mix brought us more of the classics: 'Wings', 'Salute' (accompanied by another very glittery outfit change) and 'DNA' were interspersed with their new bangers like 'Downand Dirty', 'Private Show' and new song 'Is Your Love Enough' which is classic Little Mix (meaning it’s incredible). They also played their latest single 'Reggaetón Lento'during fan favourite 'Touch' in a special remix. After a few choruses of 'Reggaetón Lento', they switched back to 'Touch', with streamers and confetti blasted into the crowd, who were loving it! In fact, as the show went on, the audience seemed to only get more excited, bouncing off the energy the girls were giving out on stage. Even the begrudging dads accompanying their children were joining in when Leigh-Anne challenged us all to whip our manes while they played Hair.

For the encore, Little Mix came out in their fourth outfit of the night, t-shirts emblazoned with a sparkling 'Ex' so we knew what was coming next. Arguably their biggest song to date, 'Shout Out To My Ex' was the perfect way to end a brilliant set. Not one person remained on their seat for the whole song, or as the girls thanked us for coming and disappeared though trap doors in the stage. Widely regarded as the best British girl band since the Spice Girls, Little Mix have worked incredibly hard to get to where they are, and they deserve it. Their live show proves how dedicated they are to making sure their fans have a good time, which we definitely did. That was SO much fun.
