Little Mix Fans React To Experimental, Feminist New Album 'LM5'

The Mixers have a LOT to say - and it's all positive...

Little Mix unleashtheir fifth album to the world today, and it is a true testament to their power in every way.

Only superstars of Ariana Grande or Rihanna's calibre maintain crazy levels of anticipation with every new album, proving that Little Mix are at the top of their game as'LM5'has been highly anticipated by the world round for a long time.

Preceded by the Nicki Minaj-assisted (and rap beef-causing) 'Woman Like Me', their latest record is a triumphant body of work that takes left turns where they may have followed certain popformula beforehand. Consequently, the result is a truly experimental and authentically Little Mix album beyond what we've heard before.

Jesy, Jade, Leigh-Anne and Perrie are listed as executive producers for the first time, while all appearing on the songwriting credits - particularly Jade and Leigh-Anne, whose names pop up onover half of the track list- and their vision is evident in the music.

Production is sparse, harmonies are tight, lyrics are frank, swag is heavy, bullsh-t is absent; themes of female empowerment and sisterhood dominate the songs as they embrace body positivity, clap back at the non-stop break-up rumours, celebrate self-love'and'lovin' on their men, too.

'Wasabi' is essentially'Move''s older, death-droppingsister, 'Strip' is a bold and legitimately strange track that flourishes in its unconventional production, and the 'Thong Song'-sampling 'Love A Girl Right' is absolutely genius. And that's just three of the songs.

It's safe to say that the Mixers are elated with their faves' new material, as they should be, and they've already declared it as "the best album of 2018" and compared it to Spice Girls... "but better". Wow!

'Huuuuuge'words from Mixers here but we can't even be shocked because LM really did (!) that (!!) with this album.

Congrats, queens!
