Al Gore's Global Warming!

MTV.co.uk got the chance to sit in on this weekend's exclusive interview between Al Gore and Trevor Nelson

Former Vice President Al Gore, who controversially lost out to George Bush in the presidential elections in 2001, came into MTV today to talk to Trevor Nelson about climate change.

Wearing a black suit and matching leather cowboy boots, the softly spoken southerner remained calm and clear as he put forward his case.

"I am 99% certain that we are contributing to global warming - and nothing in science is ever 100%. But if you went to a doctor and they said they were 99% certain you had a condition, you'd be a fool not to act on their advice."

He said that responsibility for solving this issue lay with Governments, though he insisted it was not a "political problem" but a "moral imperative."

Talking about the current US administration, he admitted he was biased, but described George Bush as "coming from oil" and shockingly claimed that Bush has a person in the White House whose role it is to bury reports on Global Warming.

Broken up with sketches from comedy team Punk Science, and a very special Pimp My Ride featuring Arnold Schwarzenegger, Mr Gore insisted that the problem was real but that change was possible.

"It is much easier to save the world than a lot of the cynics are suggesting.
"The most important role will be played by young people, who need to learn about the issue and then encourage their parents and teachers to change. Young people can change the world with the force of truth."
The entire interview can be seen on MTV UK this Saturday at 1:10pm, as a part of our Live Earth celebrations.
