Lord Of The Rings TV SHOW: Is Peter Jackson Returning To Middle-Earth?
When Amazon dropped a cool $250 million to bag the rights for its new Lord Of The Rings TV show, the question on everybody’s lips was whether or not Peter Jackson would be involved. And while there was no initial indication that he would be, it seems as though the director might be making a return after all.
According to THR, Jackson’s attorney Peter Nelson recently began talks with Amazon on the filmmaker’s behalf. Just what that means for his potential participation remains to be seen, but it would seem to indicate involvement of one sort or another.
As you’d expect, plot details are few and far between at this stage, although we do know that the new show will be a prequel to the events covered in Jackson’s original film trilogy.
Will the filmmaker have any appetite to return to this world after making those films, and a further three adapting The Hobbit? Or will he be able to bear letting go of his Precious? Watch this space…
