Lorde Rules With New Single 'Team', Crashes Vevo

Royals singer said video was "borne from a dream"...

Lorde released her latest video for upcoming single Team last night, crashing her Vevo channel in the process.

Fans of the Royals singer proved they were on her team by quickly rushing to check out the track, causing Lorde to tweet: “I think you're all overloading the video... let it breathe! Hehe.” She quickly followed up with another tweet stating: “Omg you crashed vevo!”
The video features the quirky singer in an alternate reality and in a Facebook post she explained that the concept came from a dream she had a few months ago about “teenagers in their own world, a world with hierarchies and initiations, where the boy who was second in command had acne on his face, and so did the girl who was queen.”
The video has already racked up almost 20,000 thumbs up on Vevo, less than 24 hours after being uploaded.
“I dreamt about this world being so different to anything anyone had ever seen, a dark world full of tropical plants and ruins and sweat and of this world,” the New Zealand native continued. “I dreamt about tests that didn't need to be passed in order to be allowed in: sometimes the person who loses is stronger.”
Revealing that one of the teens in the video is a real-life friend she recruited “last minute”, Lorde added up on Twitter that the video depicts “a world run by teens where outsiders are celebrated and imperfection is the norm.”
On Sunday Vevo announced that Lorde’s first track, Royals, had become ‘Vevo Certified’ having racked up over 100 million views.
