Lostprophets Love Arctics!

The double Kerrang Award-winners want to clear up a few rumours

Welsh rock band Lostprophets have denied they have a beef with Arctic Monkeys.

Last month it was widely reported that front man Ian Watkins sniped, "They didnt break America - they bounced off."

But talking to MTV.co.uk the nicely coiffeured singer said, "It's a load of rubbish - what I actually said was that it takes a lot for UK bands to make their mark on America, us included."

"We thought about posting something on our Myspace blog about it but then we saw the guys at V last weekend and got to set the record straight face-to-face."

"They were cool about it and we hung out - I love the band and think their albums great."

Nuff said.

Meanwhile, the Prophets are celebrating having picked up two gongs - one for Best British Band and one for Best Album - at the Kerrang Awards last night (August 24).

The Kerrangs are voted for by the fans rather than some arty board of people trying to be obscure, so thats why theyre important to us, Watkins told us.

The bands new single A Town Called Hypocrisy is out on September 11. Look out for the ace 70s childrens TV show-themed video too.
