One Direction star Louis Tomlinson has been arrested after getting into a fight with photographers at LAX airport.

According to reports the singer landed at the Los Angeles airport with girlfriend Eleanor Calder when he butted heads with awaiting paps.

Louis was put under citizen’s arrest and charged with simple battery and misdemeanour according to the Los Angeles Sheriff Department.

Witnesses say Louis and a photographer were in such a ruckus they had to be separated by airport security.

Louis, who recently reunited with his ex-girlfriend Eleanor, had been partying in Las Vegas with the brunette. The couple were flying back to LA when the incident occured.

Louis’ lawyer Martin Singer shed some light on the situation by releasing the following statement…

“The paparazzi provoked and caused the altercation that occurred with Louis at the airport this morning. This is not the first or last time that a paparazzi has created an altercation with a celebrity. While the altercation was going on with the paparazzi, three other individuals were attacking his girlfriend during this incident and he came to her defence, causing airport security to intervene".

Bail has been set at £16,000 and Tomlinson will have to attend a court hearing on March 29th.
