Louis Tomlinson Thanks Fans After Emotional X Factor Performance Dedicated To His Mum
Louis Tomlinson fought back tears to make his world debut as a solo artist taking to the stage of the X Factor just hours after news broke his mum had died.
The 24-year-old former One Direction star joined Steve Aoki on Saturday night to sing their single Just Hold On.
On Friday it had been revealed that Louis’s mum Johannah had passed away following a battle with leukaemia.
Louis dedicated the performance to his mum and took to Twitter after he received a standing ovation from the X Factor judges and the live Wemble audience.
“That was harder than I ever imagined,” he wrote – adding that he wanted to thank fans for their support.
Thinking of his mum, he added: “Feeling so much love around me and my family. Mum would have been so f**king proud.”
Fellow 1D stars Harry Styles, Niall Horan and Liam Payne all jetted to London to support Louis on the night with the boys spending time together backstage.
“Harry, Niall and Liam all wanted to be there to support Louis tonight for what was undoubtedly one of the most difficult moments of his life,” a source told The Sun.
“It was an incredible and special thing for them to get back together as a four and be like brothers again,” they added.
“Niall flew in overnight from New York so he could be there and Liam came from Los Angeles. It was that important they were together. It was an emotional night,” the source revealed.
We’re glad Louis has so much love around him at this time.
