Louis Walsh: Tulisa Trial Reminded Me Of My Own Ordeal

X Factor judge says seeing his friend go to court brought back unpleasant memories...

Louis Walsh has revealed that seeing Tulisa go through her recent court drama has brought back unpleasant memories of his own ordeal.

The 62-year-old was falsely accused of sexual assault in 2011 - and seeing his fellow X Factor judge go to court reminded him of the nightmare.

Speaking to the Irish Mirror, Louis said: “People have no idea. It is only in the middle of the night when you wake up and you have these panic attacks.

“I had the same panic attacks she had because all we have in this business is our name, and they told lies about her and about me.”

And the talent show judge admitted those lies have made it hard to trust people, saying: “You have to be careful about who you talk to, what you text, everything.

“You have to be so careful about everything because everybody has an iPhone now and everyone is texting and watching everything you do.”

For Tulisa’s case - which collapsed last month when the ‘Fake Sheikh’ was found to have lied in court - Louis even gave written testimony to her solicitor.

[related]“I gave the whole story about how much I knew her and how I never saw her taking drugs,” he explained. “She was totally set up.”

And the Irishman says he isn’t surprised the ‘pressure’ caused the N-Dubz singer to consider suicide.

“They took everything away from her,” he told the paper. “They took her name, she wasn’t on X Factor - she was ruined.

“Someone tried to ruin her and you cannot do that. I hope he goes to jail.”

But he does think Tulisa is going to “come back fighting” - and she’ll be starting by joining him for the judges’ houses round of this year’s X Factor.
