Simon Cowell "100 Per Cent" Supporting Louis Walsh
Following claims the Irish star indecently assaulted a man...
Walsh strongly denies the claims, stating to the tabloid last night: "I'm devastated by these completely unfounded and malicious allegations. Anyone who knows me knows this is all a pack of lies."
"Westlife were there. The whole band witnessed how I behaved. There was nothing untoward at all. I am shocked by these allegations against me but I am going to fight to clear my name. I don't even know who this guy is, just that he's a sick, nasty person."
The 58-year old continued: "I have instructed lawyers and I am not going to let this guy get away with peddling lies about me. No one who knows me believes this story. I have had hundreds of messages of support, which means so much."
"This is not fair on my friends, family or artists I work with - especially when I have had no formal contact from the police to put these allegations to me. I will fight this all the way. I will happily co-operate fully with the police and am 100 per cent confident that after a full investigation I will be fully exonerated."
The Mirror also reports that Louis is "unlikely to face charges over the assault claims" with an insider telling the newspaper: "The fellow that is making the complaint is an up and coming socialite who is trying to get involved in a reality TV show."
"He was speaking and drinking with Louis Walsh in the club on the night and he alleged that something happened. He originally told Gardaí (Irish police) that he was groped on the dancefloor of the club. However he later said it happened in the bathroom, where there is no CCTV located."
They explained: "We are not talking about an invasive sort of alleged attack and officers are not confident that charges will be brought in this case. Nevertheless, a full investigation will be carried out and Gardaí will speak with all parties involved. CCTV has been taken from the club as part of the investigation."
