Love Island's Cara De La Hoyde Announces She's PREGNANT With Ex Nathan Massey's Baby
Love Island's Cara De La Hoyde has revealed the shock news that she's pregnant with ex-boyfriend Nathan Massey's baby, just weeks after the pair announced they'd called it quits.
Explaining that she only discovered she was expecting after an op to remove cancerous cells on her cervix, she told OK!: "They have to check if you're pregnant first, but I said to the doctor: 'I don't think there's any need for that!'
"They did it anyway and a nurse came back and said: 'You're pregnant! I was with my mum and we just looked at each other in complete shock. I went in for one thing and came out expecting a baby."
The couple split two weeks later in April, but Nathan is planning on being involved in the pregnancy: "He's going to be there for the baby and I'm making him aware of all the midwife appointments and scans, so he's in the loop and so's his mum."
“It’s a shame and a sad situation. I know a lot of people will think, well you’re going to have a baby together so just stay together – but we’re not going to do that just to look like the perfect couple," she added.
This comes as the pair - who won Love Island last year - called time on their relationship after a "string of silly rows," insisting at the time that their seperation was a mutual decision.
“They’ve both mutually agreed to call it quits," a source previously told The Sun. "It hasn’t been an easy decision but in the end they decided things would be better apart. They stayed really amicable and will definitely do all they can to be friendly.”
