MTV caught Hot Chip, Grace Jones, Hercules & Love Affair, Hurts, New Young Pony Club and Cut Copy
After two days of steadfast Lovebox partying it was going to take something pretty spectacular to lift the spirits of some seriously drained festival revelers. Fortunately the organisers had left arguably the best line-up of the festival until the last day.
After a slow start, festival proceedings kicked off proper with an energetic set from Hercules And Love Affair, with frontman Cut Copy in their only UK festival appearance of the summer. The Australian electro rock outfit delivered a slick set including a host of new tracks which seemed to go down well with old and new fans alike.
Another quick dash back to the Main Stage and there was just enough time to catch electro wizards Hot Chip banging through a host of hits from their back catalogue including Grace Jones closed the final night of festival with a career-spanning set. The Jamaican-American singer, who was 25 minutes late, pulled in a huge crowd for a spectacular performance which saw her wearing a multitude of different hats and face masks and dancing around a pole on a spinning turntable.
The biggest cheer of the set came when Jones banged out her signature track Pull Up To The Bumper which ended in typically flamboyant fashion with the crowd showered in ticker tape.
A fitting end to a fantastic set, a fantastic day and a fantastic Lovebox Festival.
