Rap star says his 'heart is broken' as he confirms the news on Twitter...
Rapper Lupe Fiasco has announced his retirement from the music industry.
Fiasco - real name Wasalu Muhammad Jaco - has stated on Twitter that his forthcoming album Food & Liquor II: The Great American Rap Album Pt. 1 - due for release on 25th September - will be his last.
The Superstar hitmaker wrote on the micro-blogging site: "This album will probably be my last. It's been a pleasure to have all my fans provide so much love and inspiration for me and my family.
"But my heart is broken and I see no comfort further along this path only more pain. I cannot participate any longer in this."
He added: "My first true love was literature so I will return to that. Lupe Fiasco ends here."
Lupe is still signed to Atlantic Records for one more album and was planning to release a sequel to his new LP.
In January 2012, he previously criticised his record label for delaying the release of Food & Liquor II: The Great American Rap Album Pt. 1.
