Lupita Nyongo'o: "I Feel Like I Was A Musician In A Past Life"
The Oscar-winner joins fellow actresses Elizabeth Olsen, Elle Fanning, Kate Mara and Emilia Clarke on the cover of Marie Claire...
For their May issue, Marie Claire have picked five of Hollywood’s hottest young actresses to cover the mag: Oscar winner Lupita Nyong’o, Godzilla actress Elizabeth Olsen, Maleficent’s Elle Fanning, Emilia Clarke from Game Of Thrones and Fantastic Four star Kate Mara.
Inside the mag, each actress spills the details on their rapid rise to stardom and how they spend their downtime.
“I wish I had time to learn how to play an instrument,” Lupita said. “I feel like I was a musician in a past life. I’d really like to get back to that life but I don’t have the patience or the time to do it!”
She also opened up about her stellar year, in which she won a Best Supporting Actress Oscar for her role in 12 Years A Slave. “It was phenomenal. As brilliant as it was, onward ho.”
“I hope that I will get to work soon. In due time, what I should do next and what I want to do next will reveal themselves. I am not in the business of trying to top this year - that's virtually impossible. I'd have to be pronounced the Queen of England or something!”
Meanwhile Elizabeth, who is younger sister to the Olsen twins, Mary-Kate and Ashley, says her “greatest joy is probably a combination of food, friends, family and hosting.”
The Godzilla and Avengers 2 star also confessed: “There are some jobs that I've said no to, because I know what kind of attention they will bring. I choose not to have that specific kind of attention."
And Elle Fanning, who co-stars alongside Angelina Jolie in the upcoming live-action film Maleficent, admitted she’s always wanted to “dress up really ‘80s” and go to a roller skating rink.
But she added: "I like to dress my age. You don't want to look too old when you're not, or too young when you're not."
