Madge Left Waiting
Madonna has been told that she will have to wait five weeks before she can find out whether her planned gig at Slane Castle, Co.Meath, Ireland, will be allowed to go ahead.
The date had been set for Madges first ever Irish performance but the problem stems from the fact the date is a Sunday; Sunday August 29 to be precise. With its mostly Catholic population, Ireland still holds the Sabbath in high esteem and local people want the event stopped. Public pressure has forced Madonna to apply to the Meath County Council for a formal application before approval can be given. Council law rules that members of the public now have five weeks to officially raise any complaints they may have for the planned gig.
The concert has now been put on hold pending the response from the council.
