Madonna: 'Album Leak Is Like Rape And Terrorism'
Social media outcry over queen of pop's 'insensitive' comment...
Madonna is furious that her next album has been leaked in its entirety, months before it was due for release.
But the 56-year-old queen of pop may have gone a step too far when she compared the theft to "artistic rape" and described it as "a form of terrorism".
Madge was swiftly taken to task by other social media users after her angry outburst on Instagram - with many feeling her comments were crass in the wake of horrific terrorist incidents in Sydney and Pakistan this week.
She had written: "This is artistic rape!! These are early leaked demos half of which won't even make it on my album the other half have changed and evolved.
"This is a form of terrorism. Wtf!!!! Why do people want to destroy artistic process??? Why steal? Why not give me the opportunity to finish and give you my very best?"
But the post was later removed from the site.
She left another post up, thanking fans for not listening to the stolen material.
"Thank you for not listening! Thank you for your loyalty! Thank you for waiting and if you have heard please know they are unfinished demos stolen long ago and not ready to be presented to the world."
Madge has worked with a range of top production talent including Diplo, Avicii, Natalia Kills and Ryan Tedder for tracks on the new album - apparently given the provisional title Iconic.
