Madonna is hoping to appeal against the verdict that prevented her from adopting 3 year old orphan Mercy James.
Madge’s appeal is to be heard on 4th May which could see her finally allowed to adopt her second Malawian child.
The Hung Up singer’s original application was rejected as the African state requires new adoptive parents to live in the country for 18 to 24 months.
Her Malawian lawyer has since stated the original decision could be over-turned as it was based: “on an archaic law of over 50 years ago.”
Madonna, who has already been successful in adopting David Banda from the African country in 2006, is currently recovering after suffering minor injuries after falling from a horse in New York at the weekend.
