Madonna Clarifies Obama 'Black Muslim' Comment
Queen of Pop says she was being ironic during her onstage outburst...
While on stage, the Queen of Pop urged her fans to vote for Obama so that Abraham Lincoln, Martin Luther King Jr and others who fought for equality "did not die for nothing".
She exclaimed: "It's so amazing and incredible to think that we have an African-American in the White House. Those fine human beings did not die for nothing.
"They fought for our freedom, not just African Americans, but for all people... who are different, unconventional or people who want to believe in what they believe... Y'all better vote for f**king Obama, OK?"
Madonna continued: "For better or for worse, alright, we have a 'black Muslim' in the White House, OK?
"That's some amazing s**t. It means there is hope in this country. And Obama is fighting for gay rights, okay, so support the man goddammit."
The Turn Up The Radio singer has since issued a statement through her spokeswoman defending her comments, after a video of her supporting Obama emerged on YouTube.
Madge's official clarification claimed: "I was being ironic on stage. Yes, I know Obama is not a Muslim - though I know that plenty of people in this country think he is. And what if he were?
"The point I was making is that a good man is a good man, no matter who he prays to. I don't care what religion Obama is - nor should anyone else in America."
