Madonna stole the show at the 2013 GLAAD Media Awards over the weekend, attending the event dressed as a boy scout and kissing Anderson Cooper.

The Queen of Pop was on hand to present Cooper with the Vito Russo accolade at the ceremony in New York, using the event as the perfect opportunity to hit out at the Boy Scouts of America's "f**ked-up" views on LGBT rights.
Madge stated: "I wanted to be a boy scout, but they wouldn't let me join. I think that's f**ked up. I know how to pitch a tent, I have a very good sense of direction, I can rescue kittens from trees, I want to do good for the community, and most importantly, I know how to scout for boys."

She then welcomed Cooper to the stage, introducing him with a 12-minute speech, showing her support of gay rights by claiming: "Most people are not comfortable with things or people that they perceive as different from themselves, and I would wager that if we just took the time to get to know each other, did our own investigation, looked beneath the surface of things that we would find that we're not so different after all."
The Give Me All Your Luvin' hitmaker then locked lips with Cooper, with him later asking the audience after accepting his gong: "Do I have lipstick from Madonna on me? It's a first. Kissing a woman, that is."

The US journalist went on to praise Madge, calling her "an extraordinary ally" of the LGBT community, while also adding: "As a gay person it's important to remember that all of us come from a community whose stories have for too long been forgotten or ignored.
"A community whose lives have for too long been ridiculed or misrepresented, a community that in spite of all that has found ways to love and to laugh and to care for one another."

Cooper concluded: "[Being gay] has allowed me to love and be loved, it's helped open my head and open my heart in ways I never could have predicted."
