Madonna Visits Malawi

And is named most played artist of the noughties...

Madonna has made a visit to Malawi with her adopted children Mercy and David.

The singer visited a UN project over the weekend and will today officially start building work on the girls’ school she is funding in the country.
 
Speaking to reporters the Queen of Pop said:  “It pains me to see children denied their most basic needs to survive because they were born into poverty.
 
“I have started many projects to try to make a difference to their lives and this village is one of my proudest achievements.”
 
In other Madonna news she has been named as the most played artist of the last decade in the UK.
 
Music industry body the PPL said she beat The Beatles into second place during the noughties.
 
Robbie Williams, Queen and Take That complete the Top 5.
