Madonna’s Spiritual Visit To Israel

Pop superstar Madonna and her husband, filmmaker Guy Ritchie, have arrived in Israel for a five-day visit.

Madonna, a student of Jewish mysticism Kabbalah, was arriving in Tel Aviv for the Jewish New Year. Madonna is not scheduled to perform during the visit, as shes planning to go on a spiritual quest.

The singer and husband Ritchie are joining a group of some 2,000 other students of Kabbalah for the international congress of the Kabbalah Center. Madonna is also planned to participate in a gala benefit for children and visit graves of revered rabbinical sages.

During her visit, says the Israel Tourism Office, Madonna will be filmed for a short video to promote tourism. Israeli papers add that Madonna, who has become a leading proponent of Kabbalah and has recently adopted the Hebrew name Esther, might be joined in Israel by designer Donna Karan, actress Demi Moore and fellow pop star Britney Spears.
