Madonna will introduce Pussy Riot at an Amnesty International gig next week.

Taking place in New York next week, the concert will also feature Lauryn Hill, Tegan and Sara and Imagine Dragons.

Members of Russian girl group – and political protestors – Pussy Riot will take to the stage during the show after Madge gives them a special introduction.

"I am honored to introduce my fellow freedom fighters Masha and Nadya from Pussy Riot," she said in a statement. "I have admired their courage and have long supported their commitment and the sacrifices they have made in the name of freedom of expression and human rights."

Masha and Nadya were recently released from jail after they were arrested for protesting in a Russian church.

The girl power collaboration comes after the Queen of Pop most recently collaborated with Macklemore and Ryan Lewis on stage at the Grammy Awards last Sunday and, this week, filmed a special appearance during Miley Cyrus’ MTV Unplugged session.
