Maisie Williams Has Been Cast In The X-Men Universe Alongside TV Sis Sophie Turner

Maisie will star in the new X-Men spinoff movie!

The X-Men universe just added another Game Of Thrones star to its ensemble, with Maisie Williams (AKA Arya Stark) signing up to join the cast for New Mutants. That’s both of the Stark girls now on mutant duty, with TV sis Sophie Turner having joined the main X-Men franchise already as a young Jean Grey.

Williams has signed up to play Wolfsbane in the new movie, which will be an adaptation of the classic X-Men spin-off series of the same name. In case you hadn’t guessed, Wolfsbane’s mutant ability is the power to transform into a wolf, or a kind of half-human half-wolf combo. And much like Arya Stark, she’s a total badass.

She’ll be lining up alongside The Witch star Anya Taylor-Joy, who will be playing Magik, the teleporting little sister of Colossus. No word as yet on who might be playing fellow team members Mirage, Warlock, Cannonball or Sunspot, but expect that to change in the coming weeks.

Directed by Josh Boone, with James McAvoy rumoured to be reprising his role as Professor X, X-Men: The New Mutants will open in the UK on 13 April 2018.
