Justin Bieber's New Song With Major Lazer 'Cold Water' Is So Good MØ Cried
EXCLUSIVE! MØ talks her forthcoming major collab which is dropping in FOUR DAYS...
This Friday Major Lazer drops their highly anticipated new single 'Cold Water' featuring Justin Bieber and MØ and if we weren't excited enough already, we had MØ in the studio recently and she told us it was so good she "started to cry" the first time she heard it!
Having featured on the incredible 'Lean On', which Spotify last year named the a most-streamed song of all time, the Danish singer revealed how this song came about:
"['Cold Water'] was a bit different - it's Ed Sheeran and Benny Blanco who were writing it with those guys and Justin Bieber singing it, and then I co-wrote the parts where I sing. We were not all in the studio together. I was in the studio with the Major Lazer team and at that point they already had most of the song written."
Speaking of the finished product which drops in FOUR days - not like we're counting or anything - she said: "It's really good. Actually the first time their people sent it to me I started to cry a little bit because I thought it was so...it's like so powerful and strong but at the same time it's like emotional...you can hear the great songwriting in it but at the same time it has the cool vibes of Major Lazer...can I say all these things?"
Justin Bieber who last worked with Major Lazer founder Diplo on their Jack Ü collab 'Where Are Ü Now' has been teasing us with countdown images for the last few days, but no sign of a snippet yet. Wahh.
MØ, who scored her first solo UK Top 40 hit this week with 'Final Song', added on whether she ever thought she'd be able to say she and JB would appear on a track together said:
"I never thought I would be on a song with Justin Bieber - it's pretty crazy! It's really awesome. I'm not religious but *looks to the sky* thanks!"
