“It all started where a nurse suggested to my wife that if you drink Guinness or a small amount of Guinness, the dark beer, that the yeast improves breastfeeding,” he told Piers Morgan on his CNN show. “I don’t know if someone overheard that, but then they were saying that my wife was drinking beer and all that stuff. It’s like people would do anything to conjure up a story.”

Child Protective Services contacted the couple after hearing the report, over concern for babies Monroe and Moroccan, born 30 April, but Nick quickly set the record straight. “I spoke to the person from the Child Protective Services. I was like, 'This is ridiculous. We're going to make sure that this isn't a case,'” he explained.

The America’s Got Talent host added that he and his superstar wife were frustrated by the lengths people would go in an attempt to get close to their children. “Man, it is more than one incident. There have been photographers posing as many people in the hospital or people trying to get pictures of the kids, which is really sad when you think about people trying to make a buck off newborn babies,” he complained.

“You got to have to understand this is something you have to deal with. It is sad that people have to go to those lengths.”
