Robbie Helps Mark Deal With His Drink Problem
As he goes into therapy…
Serial cheat Mark Owen has told The Sun that his best friend Robbie Williams has been helping him through his drink problem.
Mark started drinking when he moved to the Lake District after Take That spilt in 1996, and claims he continued drinking heavily through his relationship with Emma. He recently revealed his problem to his bandmates:
“I told the lads a few weeks ago that I’m trying to deal with a drink problem. I spoke to Rob about it too.”
Robbie has been checked into rehab twice for substance abuse and is a recovering alcoholic himself, so is in the perfect position to support Mark.
Mark was however keen to stress that he is not trying to excuse his behaviour. Yesterday he admitted to cheating on his wife with up to 10 women. He told The Sun:
"I want to make it absolutely clear that I am not using the drink as an excuse.”
Mark had been kicked out of the house by his wife, but reportedly returned today to hold crisis talks, and has booked himself into therapy at Emma’s insistence.
