Aaron Sorkin In Talks With Marvel & DC To Write A Major Superhero Movie

LET MOVIE STUDIO BATTLE COMMENCE!

The on-going battle between Marvel and DC looks set to rank up a notch. Aaron Sorkin, writer of The Social Network andthe master of dialogue himself, is being courted by both of the opposing studios to write a big, upcoming superhero project.LET MOVIE STUDIO BATTLE COMMENCE!

According to an exclusive report by ComicBook.com, Aaron Sorkin is set to have talks with both Marvel and DC about putting pen to paper on future superhero films soon, even though he hasn’t read a comic book in his life.

“I happen to have meetings coming up with both DC and Marvel. I have to go into these meetings and tell them as respectfully as I can that I’ve never read a comic book,” Sorkin said.

He continued: “It’s not that I don’t like them. It’s just that I’ve never been exposed to one.

“So, I’m hoping that somewhere in their library is a comic book character that I’m gonna love and I’m gonna wanna go back and start reading from the first issue on.”

Sorkin wrote the screenplays for films such as Steve Jobs, Moneyball and The Social Network (the latter of which he won both an Oscar and a BAFTA for Best Screenplay), as well as the TV shows The West Wing and The Newsroom.

Sorkin is famous for his rapid-fire walk and talk dialogue, which was brilliantly parodied in his 30 Rock cameo.

From ‘walk and talk’ to ‘walk and talk and swing and fly and teleport’? What will a superhero film penned by the peerless master of dialogue look like? Who knows. (Aaron Sorkin might know.)
