New Marvel Movies Are Coming To The UK First!
Most of studio's 'phase three' movies will hit Britain before US...
British movie fans will be one step ahead of their US counterparts when it comes to seeing the majority of Marvel's coming slate of "phase three" movies.
The studio has revealed that many of its coming films will hit cinemas in the UK a week or so before they are screened across the pond.
Captain America: Civil War, Doctor Strange, Guardians Of The Galaxy 2, Black Panther, The Avengers: Infinity War (both parts) and Inhumans will all premiere here in Blighty first.
While Thor: Ragnarok and Captain Marvel are the only movies slated to launch on the same date both sides of the Atlantic.
Back in the days of actual celluloid projectors, movies were usually screened in the US first and came to the UK weeks or months later so that the same copies of the film could be used here.
In the digital age the US initially kept that traditional headstart, mainly to stagger stars' publicity duties.
But in recent years there has been a move to open films internationally before the US - primarily because the international markets are now worth more than the US domestic market to most studios and they can get their money back more quickly.
The Marvel phase three schedule is as follows...
