The latest Mass Effect Andromeda game has finally been given a release date for 2017... and it’s soon!

The fourth main Mass Effect game from BioWare will be released on 23 March in Europe andon 21 March for the lucky early players in the US.

The game has been near five years in the making so this release date landing at last is a PRETTY BIG DEALfor fans.

Mass Effect Andromeda will be set right after the events of Mass Effect 2 - yup, totally skipping where Mass Effect 3 ended. You will play as Ryder, who has left the Milky Way galaxy on a 600-year journey to Andromeda in 2185. That puts it right after the second Mass Effect game and at the same time that its DLC, Shadow Broker, took place.

All that means you’re actually playing in an Andromeda based world set in 2785.

Your fellow shipmates include fellow humans Liam and Cora, an asari called Peebee and a krogan named Drack. Each character is also set togetmore lines for intense,in-depth storylines.

According to a source of Eurogamer, “You are a pathfinder, a combat trained but untested explorer leading an expedition into the Helius cluster [in the Andromeda galaxy] to establish a new home for humanity. As you explore this sprawling series of solar systems (over four times the size of Mass Effect 3), collecting resources and building colonies, you will encounter the savagery of untamed lands in the form of cut-throat outlaws and warring alien races.”
