Matt Cardle Comments On James Arthur Album Sales

Former X Factor winner's debut sold more in first week of release...

Matt Cardle has taken a pot shot at James Arthur in the wake of last year's winner of The X Factor launching his debut album.
J-Arth's self-titled debut long player went into the Official UK Albums Chart at No 2 yesterday, selling 63,996 copies in its first week - compared to Cardle's 70,896 back in 2011.
Speaking to Digital Spy, Cardle commented: "Well, there you go. Having slagged me and my career off for a year now, the numbers are in and they speak for themselves.
"For some reason, he has repeatedly tried to humiliate me publicly and cement the perception that I have failed, but I've just celebrated the release of my third top 20 album in as many years, two of which I released independently. I'm proud of what I've achieved.
"Like I initially said 12 months ago, I wish him well, I think he is talented and I hope he is still around in 3 years time."
After winning The X Factor, Arthur made some thinly veiled comments about previous male winners not selling enough records.
He and Cardle [uuid=ed1aefe8-2729-4ea4-9a30-b2949d4c3422]have been involved in a tit-for-tat feud[/uuid] ever since.
Cardle - who won the ITV talent show in 2010 - [uuid=7264fa43-2ad7-4b36-96c3-243e4926f54e]recently labelled J-Arth "deeply unpleasant"[/uuid].
