Less than 24 hours after he was crowned the 2016 winner of' The X Factor', allMatt Terry can say is "it's all so overwhelming, I still can't believe it!"

Having been mentored to glory by Nicole Scherzinger on the talent show, Terry was nowspeaking to us exclusively about his win and the spellbinding final, and naturally we were itching to hear all about it.

In our interview below we ask about the pressures of living up to 'X Factor' titans like One Direction and Little Mix, plus get this thoughts on Louis Tomlinson's emotional turn on the stage and more...

Former winners Little Mix were just one of the acts to take to the stage at Wembley Arena over the two day final so what was it like to see such a successfulan act from the show five years down the line?

"Oh My God they were insane," he said. "I got to meet them, I watched their soundcheck and they were so lovely, they were just incredible. From their vocals to their dancing they're lovely girls, ah man they were unreal.

"I hope I can [match their success] - they're big you know, it's something I would only dream of living up to and I want to stay positive and really really go for it, this is my chance and I'm gonna take it."

On seeing Louis Tomlinson make his debut solo performance just a day after his mother Johannahpassed away from leukaemia, Terry added: "I think he was absolutely incredible and so incredibly brave to do that. I can't imagine what he's going through and my thoughts and prayers go out to him and his family. What a guy to do that. [I have] so much respect for him."

Matt's heading towards a Top 5 position on Friday with his winner's single 'When Christmas Comes Around', facing off with Clean Bandit, Louis Tomlinson and Steve Aoki for No.1 glory. Only the second original song to be written for a winner of 'The X Factor,'what did he make of it the first time he heard it?

"I fell in love with it the first time I heard it," he revealed. "Iwas just like 'yes!' and then when they played me back me recording it I was just like, 'this needs to be mine! Please, please I really, really want this, please, I've been so good!' And I'm so happy that I got to release it, it's amazing."

"I think it would be great for it to make Xmas No.1," Terry added,"because I know it will mean a lot to me and the charities [Together for Short Lives and Shooting Star CHASE] and to feel like it's done well for them, but regardless as long as it does good for them I'm happy."

The Official UK Christmas No.1 will be revealed next Friday 23rd December. Will he do it? Follow us at @MTVMusicUK to find out.
