8 Most Iconic Movie Outfits
From Elle Woods' wardrobe to Mean Girls' iconic looks...
A big part of the magic of movies is the wardrobe. I mean, we'd be lying if we said otherwise, right?
Some of the most memorable scenes are stapled into our minds for years after watching because of that outfit. Whether it be Cameron Diaz's stunning skin-tight dress when she first appears in The Mask or Kate Winslet's, um, birthday suit for that one scene in Titanic, we always remember what our favourite characters were (or weren't) wearing when we remember our favourite scenes.
Some of the most legendary outfits have went on to become Halloween regulars or just everyday style inspo, with our very first on this list recently being recreated and sold in Target in the US.
The '90s will never go out of style, that we know for sure...
Cher Horowitz’ Yellow Plaid Suit
Alicia Silverstone played the loveable spoiled brat Cher Horowitz in the '90s teen rom com Clueless, which is undoubtedly a classic at this point. How do we all remember her? In that yellow plaid skirt suit, duh. Would it be any other outfit? As if!
Regina George’s Halloween Costume
Queen Bee of the Mean Girls squad, Regina George reclaimed Halloween for girls and boys all around the world to be as 'slutty' as you want with your pride intact. The bunny costume is still amazing, as is the film, meanwhile poor Lindsay Lohan's character turned up to the party looking like a dead bride...
Kate Hudson’s Yellow Dress
Andie Anderson is Kate Hudson's hilarious character in How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days, another timeless rom com for the ages. We all lost our breath when she arrived to the party in that gorgeous yellow dress, right? A moment.
Angelina Jolie’s Dominatrix Moment
There. Will. Never. Be. Another. Miss Angelina Jolie got everyone's temperatures racing when she whipped off her modest black coat to reveal this scene-stealing PVC costume in Mr & Mrs Smith. Incredible.
Elle Woods’ All-Pink-Everything
Reese Witherspoon loves Legally Blonde so much that it's hard not to. Elle Woods, the underestimated blonde heroine, had an almost exclusively pink wardrobe that remains our own goals all these years later. She'll be in her prime when she returns for the third movie during our baby pink-obsessed generation.
Romy and Michele’s Matching Dresses
Best friends should always wear matching dresses if they look like this, tbh.
Carrie Bradshaw’s Pink Tutu
New York City's resident fashion queen stole hearts around the world with her famous pink tutu that she wore in the opening credits of Sex and the City. Sarah Jessica Parker then showed she could still rock it just as well when the cast reunited for the film in 2008.
The Mean Girls’ Santa Costumes
Mean Girls was the gift that just kept giving and it still gives us so, so much. With Halloween past the clique, it was time for the Christmas show and there was no better way to celebrate than to dress up in some fur-lined red PVC to perform in front of their teachers. It will never get old.
