It’s Wednesday, you’re wearing pink, and the best news of the year just dropped, because Mean Girls is officially getting a stage musical!

An announcement all of us can agree is both fetch and grool…

The news was confirmed by the official Mean Girls Twitter account, with the show set to make its debut in Washington DC next year.

And brilliantly, it will be written by original creator Tina Fey, who’ll be collaborating with her composer husband Jeff Richmond (the guy responsible for the super-catchy 30 Rock theme) and Legally Blonde lyricist Nell Benjamin. Talk about a dream team…

Just have a look at the titles of some of the musical numbers… “You can’t sit with us,” “On Wednesdays we wear pink”, “She doesn’t even go here”… it’s all too much for us!

Start saving now, because the Mean Girls musical will hit the stage in Autumn 2017. Probably on October 3rd….
